An open letter to Mr. Bill Gates
Dear Mr. Gates,
Im the chairman of WenQuXing and Taiwan Global View Co., Ltd.(APublic Listed Company). And I personally have invested inMSNNEXTwhich developed by a Chinese team. MSNNEXT is a 500KBclientsoftware which you and your friend both installed it, youcaninteract with your friend and friends friends (your secondtierfriends) under the 100% individual privacy protection.MSNNEXThelps to extend the interactive communication and trustworthtransaction between MSN users. I decided to support thedevelopmentof MSNNEXT because of the creative ideas￡ the productfeature applyto Chinese culture and the excellent team.
In Chinese culture, making business friends and helping eachotheroften deployed in the circle of acquaintance to securethetransaction faithfully and safely. Therefore, the two-tierfriendsdevelopment is very compatible to Chinese traditionalbusinessvalues and has a tremendous perspective.
MSN now is facing with a cruel reality: the huge differenceofmarket share from QQ is very incompatible to MSNs status andfame.Therefore, MSN needs the co-operation and support of localpartnerseagerly. MSNNEXT is just a very good product, whichstrengthen itscoherency to users and is a wonderful serviceapplication as well.Users can hunt jobs, search for relationships,look forco-operations and exchange work experience in the two-tierspace bythe MSNNEXT. These services all have practical value fortheChinese users.
The MSN users in China have been attacked by junk E-mails,rubbishrobots, the broken line by Taiwan earthquake and so on,which causednegative influence. Moreover, media reveals so-calledprivacyproblem about 8.1 and 8.5 versions recently. Meanwhile,We are alsosorry to know that MSN office in China respond to CCIDand othermedias that plug-in software of third party havingpartial SNS n mayexpose the users Messenger contacts and encroachupon the user’sprivacy. Actually, there are many manufacturersdeveloping legallyand providing partial SNS n based on MSNstandard protocol recently.However, MSNNEXT is the mostinfluential one. So we must explainnecessarily to avoid such vagueinformation bringing the wrong imageto users.
As a MSN user who lived and worked in USA, Canada, TaiwanandMainland China, I would like to share and discuss theprivacypolicy of MSN:
MYSPACE and HI5, American websites, had offered the n ofknowingwhether friends have joined the community by importingfriends MSNaccount and password and inviting them to join thecommunity bysending E-mails. This method was adopted early in Chinaand no oneconsidered it abnormal. The MSN users in China arentsensitive tothe account number of good friends until junk E-mailsand junkrobots overwhelmed them. Actually, junk E-mails arestilloverwhelming today and many users quit HOTMAIL. Its reallyapity.
For such special situation, MSNNEXT takes many measuresinprotection of privacy.
1. MSNNEXT, a tiny client software. If user doesnt install itonhis own initiative, they will not enter this two-tier spaceforever, not even the exposedness of account number anddisturbanceproblem.
2. For the users installed and used the MSNNEXT, theaccountdetails of their MSN cant be exposed to second tierfriendsabsolutely. This is the fundamental principle of privacypolicy andwon’t be changed forever.
3. Once installed the MSNNEXT, the user will be remindedofmanaging the good friends who have also installed MSNNEXT. Ifnot,the default of the number of second tier friends is zero,thatmeans, no good friend is visible.
4, If users who installed MSNNEXT but are sensitive to beseen,they can set as hidden status and other users cant approachhimeasily.
5. The user can easily avoid the NEXT friends to see hisownsecond tier friends by setting TA status as “Blocked”. Thisalsocould block the reverse link to approach friend’s MSNaccount.
These five privacy policies protect user’s MSN detailsextremelystrict and thoughtful. We believe MSNNEXT is the mosteffective oneamong those third party developers.
I have devoted myself and my company to thedevelopingelectro-consuming products for more than 20 years in theMainlandChina. “Human-oriented and Integrity” is the foundation ofoursuccess. Our market share once reached as high as 70%. MSN isweaknow in China, and really eager to have business partners suchasMSNNEXT. Therefore, we need further cooperation bywin-winstrategy.
After invested in MSNNEXT, I also merged thewebsite:www.5sai.com, which is for MSN signature and dissemination. Wecancelled the VIP confirmation service by importing accountandpassword of MSN users on the next day of mergence for thereasonprotecting privacy. Although this affected the operationofwww.5sai.com deeply but we still keep our promise to users.Now,www.5sai.com has been reconstructed to be the biggestextensiveplatform of public service in China, has completed manypublicservices. Finally, I would like to suggest Mr. Gates sincerely: You havetounderstand Chinas culture and values once you decided tomakeinvestment in China. You also need more and better partnersinChina who could provide the users better and practical serviceforMSN’s growth. The MSNNEXT is just one you need.
We hope that Mr. Gates have the opportunity to stay at theMSNNEXTfor a while, no matter when you visit China or online. Andyou willknow how the MSN users in China hunt jobs, search forrelationships,look for co-operations and exchange work experienceby two tierpatterns of MSN effectively.
